Three girls on floats in water

ENJOYING HOLIDAY FUN IN THE WATER

Three girls on floats in a pool at Newcastle (NSW). Photo taken in 1992. Water is always a big attraction for children - see the next image (below). The boys must have been swimming or wanting to swim when they were apprehended by the law.
Policeman chasing nude boys

POLICE CONSTABLE CHASES NUDE BOYS

A very famous photograph but, alas, I don't know the context. It was taken around 1935 in England. Presumably the boys had been skinny-dipping in the river and were being sent packing.  I wonder if the constable (or is it a woman?) used that mean-looking cane on them! They were certainly vulnerable in that uncovered state.

Barefoot Filipina dancer

BAREFOOT FILIPINA DANCER

Dancing in various forms is enjoyed by many and also provides wonderful entertainment. This was a dance by Filipinas during a multicultural festival in Newcastle (NSW) in 1997. As the performer moved around the stage two of the other dancers moved long timber rods back and forth so that the dancer had to avoid the rods - a little like timber skipping ropes!
Contrasting messages

CONTRASTING MESSAGES

Photo of two posters alongside each other in a street in England, taken around 1985. A religious message on one side, and an advert for the men's magazine, Mayfair alongside it.

I wonder if the people paying for the religious sign knew it would be displayed alongside a well-endowed female or, perhaps they were happy to have it there to try to win the wayward from their naughty ways.

Closeup barefeet

BATHER'S FEET IN CLOSE-UP

A photo for lovers of female feet, of which I am unashamedly one.  There have been quite a few of us over the years - e.g. the great writers Dostoevsky, Flaubert, Balzac, and several others, along with various historic personages, and in recent times the movie director Quentin Tarantino.  Most of Mr Tarantino's movies serve as evidence. Remember that scene in Kill Bill Volume 1 where The Bride (Uma Thurman) tries to get her toes working again? What a great feet scene that is. And watch his other movies.  Quentin Tarantino was invited onto The Tyra Banks Show on one occasion, where he was asked to judge the feet of some female models who paraded for him - barefoot of course.

Party girl in bondage-1

A PICKLED PEPPERS PUZZLER (Help wanted!)

In 2003 I came across a series of about 10 or 12 images on the Net that I found to be especially intriguing. (They may have been older; that was the year I downloaded them.)

As a bondage aficionado I was fascinated by the scene. The photos obviously showed some sort of party or concert being held in a hall with a stage and entertainment going on. The room was crowded with many young men and young women standing around - chatting, drinking, or just 'partying'.

Party girl in bondage - 2

The quality of many of the images was poor and the lighting dim but examining the crowd it would appear that most or all of them were Asians.

The most intriguing aspect of the scene was the fact that a handful of the young women had their arms well bound up behind their back in the typical Japanese bondage style. But only a very few were tied like this. Most of the crowd, including the other women, were not tied and were just obviously partying on.

It seems that the restrained ladies, who showed no signs of distress at their state, may have been involved in some sort of forfeit, or were they paid to stand around like that? Very kinky. Alas I could never discover the real story.

Party girl in bondage - 3

Clearly this is a situation that nicely highlights the helplessness that makes bondage such a turn-on for many of us. While the partygoers milled around, chatting, eating and drinking, the tied girls were helpless to eat or drink - unless someone held food or drink up to their mouths.

I present the three best of the images here to leave my readers puzzling too.  Maybe someone reading this knows what it was all about. I would love to satisfy my curiosity.  If any explanation is ever forthcoming I shall add a suitable note to this page.

Shadows on sand

SHADOWS ON THE SAND.

Not the greatest shot ever nor highly creative but an early effort on my part to be creative. Taken at Manly (NSW) beach with a Rolleiflex square-format camera (6cm x 6cm negative, or in old measures 2-1/4 inch square). Date unknown but probably during the 1950s.

I used Ilford B&W film in those days and processed it myself in the typical round bakelite tank. One had to get the film from the camera into the tank in complete darkness - either in an unlit room or space or with one's arms encased in a black light-tight bag. Once inside the tank, with the lid tightly in place, processing could take place in normal light, the chemicals being poured into a receptacle in the lid.

There was a certain element of creative fun developing - and later printing - one's own films but I'm not sorry to see those days pass. I would choose digital any day. (I have had to scan about 4,000 - 35m transparencies to get them into digital form, quite some job! The colour shots in Pickled Peppers were all taken from transparencies.)
Children at police display

HANDCUFFS FOR FUN.

Children at a police department display trying out handcuffs. Let's hope they never have to really wear them because of crime!  But handcuffs are fun things to play with. We used to have a wholesale business and sold handcuffs (and thumbcuffs). Unfortunately the powers-that-be eventually decided ordinary citizens shouldn't have access to such devices and it is now illegal in some Australian states (certainly in NSW and Victoria) to possess handcuffs, other than the children's play type ones or party ones. Spoilsports!

Bizarre silhouette

BIZARRE SILHOUETTE.

An old disused industrial building (littered with rubble) provided an interesting setting for the silhouette shot of one of my female friends. This was taken at Newtown, NSW, where I operated a bookshop and had the pleasure of having many young female friends coming and going - it was that sort of area. (And whatever you are thinking you would be quite wrong!). It is possible for some of us to enjoy female company without wanting to get them into bed, you know!)
Children on jumping castle

CHILDREN ON JUMPING CASTLE.

Very hard to catch the action on jumping castles! There always seems to be one figure out of place or blocking another.  But at least it is a goos shot of the little girl's feet!
Family picnic group (antique postcard)

A FAMILY PICNIC.

Another antique photograph I acquired through auctions. Unfortunately there are no details but I think it must have been pretty close to 1900, making the photo about 100 or so years old. Unfortunately the figures are not very clear as this scan was taken from a very dark print. Photoshop has helped improve things but there are limits.
Girl's hair and back

ANOTHER VIEW OF BEAUTY.

I thought this was an interesting view of an attractive young girl. She was standing watching activities at a school function. And, no, I don't have a hair fetish but I guess some people who will see this do. Fetishes take many forms and some of them very strange.

Magnus Hirschfeld, the German sexologist, commented: 'The number of fetishes is unlimited.  From the head to the feet there is not a tiny area of the body, and from head-covering to foot-encasing there is no small fold of attire from which a fetishist attraction cannot arise.'  In a 1994 Sydney (Australia) court case, for example, it was claimed of an accused man that he had a gun fetish!

A hair fetish is harmless in itself as is a foot fetish but sometimes fetishists can get into trouble. The obsession of some men with hair is so great that they become hair-snippers. These folk sneak up behind a girl in a crowd and snip off a lock of hair.  The trophy locks are generally carefully preserved, even labelled. Bit scary for the girl if she realizes what has been done to her. And on occasions a foot fetishist has got himself into trouble (fetishists are usually, although not always, males). One young foot worshipper would creep up to  tables in a cafeteria and attempt to paint the toenails of girls sitting at the tables, while another man would break into homes at night, remove the bed-covering from a sleeping girl and fondle her feet. Both eventually got caught!

Barefoot dance and group

DANCE & THEATRE GROUP.

I once came across a collection of photos of this group. They seemed to be involved in varied activities - dancing, gymnastics and stage displays. Once again, I have no idea who they are or where the photos were taken but I have reason to think it was in NSW (Australia) and the date somewhere around 1928-30 as one of the photos has a stage display with four women in swimsuits (see below). They are holding up signs bearing dates and the latest date is 1928.  This might have been the year of the display or else it was soon after this date.

DANCE & THEATRE GROUP ON STAGE.

A photo of the group (see above for further details) in a stage show of some sort, displaying the swimming costumes of various eras from 1870 through to 1928. Clearly by 1928 more flesh was on show. I wonder what they'd think today if they saw the many bare-breasted beauties in thongs peopling our beaches - at least SOME of our beaches.

Girls in Venetian costumes

GIRLS IN VENETIAN COSTUMES.

These two girls were having the time of their lives dressed in their beautiful costumes for the annual Multicultural Festival held in Hamilton (Newcastle), NSW (Australia), each year. This and the next photo were taken at the 1991 festival. The event brought out large numbers of dance and other groups who paraded and performed in the colourful folk costumes of their various countries.

ANOTHER COLOURFUL VENETIAN COSTUME.

Judging by these costumes the Venetians didn't ever let a little water dampen their enthusiasm for all things beautiful - girls as well as costumes! I did, however, see recently that Venice is under threat from rising waters due, so they say, to the dreaded climate change.

POLICE CITIZENS YOUTH CLUB GYMNASTS.

The girls were taking part in a display for the annual Maitland (NSW) Steamfest - when old steam engines get a run. I think the year was 1996. Naturally when I asked the girls to pose for a photo I got them to lift their feet up behind their heads!

The girls were from the Maitland PCYC. I don't know if these clubs still operate. They provided useful activities for young people - boys and girls - and helped keep them out of trouble.

Little Indians - girls

THE INDIANS COME TO TOWN.

Another photo from the 1991 Multicultural Festival in Hamilton, NSW (Australia).  One naturally thinks 'Red Indian' but that term is not now politically correct, at least in the USA. The Indians are these days described as 'native Americans'.  In any event the little girls look exceedingly cure in their Indian costumes and they certainly don't look fierce at all!
